Tuscany and the island of Elba on a motorbike

Starting from Lucca, you will ride for 25km and then stop in Pisa for a while to admire the Piazza del Duomo and the leaning Tower of Pisa, which is the most famous bell tower in Italy. After your visit, leave Pisa and speed off onto a meandering little road, bordered with the pine trees of the Monte Sera. On top of the Monte Sera, you will get magnificent panoramic views over Livorno and Pisa. You will then ride onto narrow countryside roads in the direction of Volterra. Once there, enjoy exploring this hilltop town, which dominates the rest of this magnificent landscape. Finally, ride through Saline di Volterra, Bibbona and San Vincenzo before reaching Piombino.

Distance: approximately 145km.

Head to the port of Piombino which is just 5 minutes away from your hotel. You will then take the ferry to the island of Elba (duration: 1 hour).
Once in Portoferraio, your motorbike adventure in Elba will begin with a ride on a slightly hilly piece of road, and then along the coastline, which is dotted with charming little villages. When the weather is bright, it is possible to see the other islands of the Tuscan archipelago, such as Pianosa, Capraia and Monte Cristo. If you’re lucky, you might even see the Apennine Mountains in the distance. A wonderful and truly magical experience!

After breakfast, you will have the entire day to ride off on new adventures. Elba is a small island which abounds with treasures of rich flora, fauna and aquatic species. During your stay, you will have the possibility to sail to another island, go trekking along beautiful crests, go scuba diving and explore seabeds, play golf, find the most beautiful cove on the island, or otherwise have a relaxing swim in the hotel swimming pool.

After breakfast, you will ride to the port of Portoferraio and take the ferry back to the continent (duration: 1 hour).
Once you arrive in Piombino, it will only take you 20 minutes to speed off to the peaceful and beautiful hills of Tuscany. The road winds through the woods up to the city gates of Sienna. Park your motorbike in the hotel’s parking lot and go on to explore the historical sites of the city.

Distance: approximately 150km.

Today’s motorbike journey will lead you to ride to Florence, otherwise known as the cradle of the Renaissance. Classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Florence is a magnificent city and a must-see while in Italy. However, before visiting Florence, you will also be able to enjoy the sumptuous countryside landscapes of the Chianti, with olive trees glistening in the sun. Today’s itinerary is slightly shorter so as to enable you to make the most out of your visit to Florence.

Ride in the footsteps of Leonardo da Vinci and discover the village and birthplace of this great genius of the Italian Renaissance. Countryside roads, hills, Tuscan little villages and cypress trees will be your backdrop for the day. Today promises to be a relaxing stage which will take you to the battlements of Lucca. Enjoy spending the evening in the historical centre of Lucca and eating in a gourmet little restaurant which will serve you local delicacies.
