All visitors need a visa for India. Visas take at keast three weeks to process at the High Commission of India.

This trip was designed for people who are used to travelling by motorbike and who can adjust themselves to different conditions. Please remember that India still remains an adventure destination regardless of how the holiday has been organised.

Arriving in Delhi

A member of our team will meet you at the airport and drive you to your first hotel (your room will be available in the afternoon).
As the capital of India, New Delhi is one of the country’s most dynamic cities, with an exceptionally high economic growth rate. Currently buzzing with activity, New Delhi’s past is just as colourful. Legend has it that Pandavas, the hero of the ancient Sanskrit epic Mahabharata, founded New Delhi – then called Indraprastha – circa 1200BC. The city now stands on the ruins of the Seven Ancient Cities, its streets being abundant with museums and historical sites reputed to be the best in India.

From Delhi to Manali

Get a morning transfer to the train station and take the Shatabdi Express to Chandigarh. You will then get a car transfer to Manali, which belongs to the Indian state of Himalach Pradesh.

Manali and Royal Enfields

Get yourself kitted out in the morning and discover by motorbike Manali, the old quarter of town, the temple of Hadima Devi and the village of Naggar. Afternoon free.

Rohtang Pass and the Valley of Lahaul

For this first mountain stage, which starts in Manali, you will ride along Rohtang Pass (+3980m) and travel through several little villages of the Lahaul Valley such as Khoksar, Sissu, Gondla and Tandi which are located at the mouth of the Chandra and Bhaga River.
You will then have the chance to settle into your hotel before exploring the town of Keylong.

Duration: 6 hours.

The Baralacha Pass

Today, you will climb further up and travel through the Baralacha Pass (+4800m). Before reaching the pass, you will ride through Gemur, Darcha and Jispar. Once you have arrived at the pass, the little village of Sarchu will give you the opportunity to walk around the village’s surroundings and to admire these sublime alpine landscapes.

Tanglang La

What better way to continue your journey than by riding this unforgettable itinerary?
During this long motorbike journey, you will travel through three different passes: Naki La (4800), Lachung La (5065m) and Tanglang La (5300m). The latter is the second highest road pass in the entire world!

The Indus River

After breakfast, hop on your motorbike and head to Nimo, which is located at the mouth of the Zanskar and Indus River, which gave its name to the land of India. On your way back, you will come across a magnetic hill, famous for its electromagnetic interference, and across Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, which is a local place of worship.
Return to Leh, the capital of Ladahk, by nightfall.

Khardungla

Rise even higher and travel by motorbike along the highest road on the entire planet, at the Khardungla Pass (+5602m). This road is even mentioned in the Guinness Book of World Records. In ancient times, this road was used by hundreds of horse- and camel-drawn caravans. After your return to Leh, you will still have time to explore Khardungla's surroundings.

Tsomoriri Lake

Today we will follow the Indus river until Mahey, where we are able to cross. We will then ride into the region known as Chumathang, where the beautiful Tsomoriri lake lies. We will then have the time to visit Karzok village and to visit the monastery on the side of the lake.
Distance: Roughly 240km (8 hours)

Tsokhar Lake

After breakfast, we will ride through new landscapes including various hidden valleys and villages. We will then arrive at the Tsokhar lake, for another night in a tented camp. Look out for the Tibetan Wild donkeys and the black-necked cranes that inhabit this area.

Duration: 6 hours.

From Tsokhar to Jispa via the plains of Sarchu

After breakfast, the road will take you to alpine heights before leading you to the plains of Sarchu and the Baralacha Pass.

Back to Manali

End this fantastic trip by riding from Jispa – the road of the Rohtang Pass (+3980m) – to Manali where you will have to say goodbye to your faithful Royal Enfield companion.

Distance: 140km.
Duration: 7 hours.

Delhi

You will get a transfer from the train station of Chandigarh to Delhi (at around 10.00pm). You will then get a transfer to the airport for your homebound flight.
Possibility of staying an additional night in Delhi or to extend your holiday in India or to combine this holiday with the ‘Rajasthan on a Royal Enfield’ trip (quote upon demand).

A 4x4 vehicle will follow the group during the entire duration of the rides in order to transport the group's luggages and to help motorbikers in difficulty. This vehicle cannot take any passengers. A Europe Active guide will ride with the group.
