Your day by day program

1
Arrival in Bastia

Upon your arrival at Bastia airport, you will be met by one of our team and taken directly to our offices. Here you will be shown around your luxury Campervan that will be your home for the next week as you tour the island. Once you have a thorough understanding of how the vehicle works, you will be set free onto the open road. Take your time to find your first 4 star campsite, next to the sea. Enjoy the superb swimming pool and relax on the beach.
Night in your campervan at an excellent campsite.

2
The Cape of Corsica, Nonza and Patrimonio

Spend the day enjoying the campsite, or get out on the road and discover the magnificent cape of Corsica. From village to village, you will drive along the spectacular coast road, taking in the iconic Genoese towers, cliffs, and turquoise waters of this superb coastline. Stop for a coffee in the sweet little port of Erbalunga, then lunch in Centuri, a tiny port reputed to be the best place in France for fresh lobster! As you make your way down the west coast of the cape, the views become breathtaking. Cross the much celebrated village of Nonza, where a drink in the cliff top bar is a must, before setting back on the road towards Saint Florent, and Patrimonio, the most famous wine-growing region on the island.
Approximately 160km.
Return to the same campsite as the night before.

3
The Desert des Agriates and the Balagne

A journey of contrasts awaits you. A short climb up and over the mountains to reach the west coast of the island, will take you directly to Saint Florent with its welcoming port. Stop for a morning coffee or a game of boules on the main square, although be careful not to challenge any of the locals, they will beat you hands down! The incredible landscapes of the Desert des Agriates will accompany you towards the Balagne region. Taking a little known road, you will soon be on a route high up above the Balagne and the coast. Explore the hilltop villages on this "Route des Artisans", where you are certain to find some delicious local produce perfect for breakfast by your campervan. Descend to the picturesque seaside resort of Calvi, with its sweepingly long white sand beach, citadel and port.

Approximately 120km.
Night in a 4 star campsite in Calvi.

4
Calvi and its surroundings

Make the most of your time in Calvi. There is plenty to do here, whether you wish to relax on the magnificent beach, book a dive to a local wreck, take a boat trip along the coast, hire a windsurf, go wine and jam tasting. Or perhaps you would like to take a walk to a lighthouse (and take a swim from a deserted beach), or discover the interior of the island, by going for a walk in the mountains, near Bonifatu (the start of the GR20). There is plenty to do and we can advise you depending upon your tastes.

Night in the same 4 star campsite in Calvi.

5
The "Calanches de Piana" and the Gulf of Porto

This really is a splendid day that you have ahead of you and you can enjoy all of it from the comfort of your VW campervan. You will follow one of the most scenic roads in the whole of Europe to get to Porto (and we advise you how not to miss the best bits). We suggest you go on one of the regular boat tours from Porto to see the UNESCO world heritage site, the Scandola nature reserve, which is really not to be missed. Continue on towards the famous Calanches de Piana, extraordinary red rock formations that plunge magnificently into the sea. You will then cross the village of Cargese, which is well known for its Greek influence, before reaching your campsite in amongst the olive groves.

Approximately 130km.
Night in Sagone in a 4 star campsite.

6
The birthplace of Napoleon and the cliffs of Bonifacio

After driving in your VW campervan along the stunning coastline, you will reach Ajaccio, the birthplace of Napoleon. There is a completely different feel to this chic southern town, which has an air of far away places. With museums, ice-cream parlours, restaurants along the port, this sophisticated mediterranean town invites you to sit back, relax and people watch. The route then continues along the coastline through Propriano before entering into the very Corsican interior. Each bend in the road will offer you a magnificent view, without a doubt. Finally, you will reach the southern-most port on the island, Bonifacio. A fascinating old town begs to be explored, whilst a walk along the white cliffs is also a must. Your superb 4 star campsite next to the sea, awaits you after an incredible day.

Approximately 175km.
Night in a 4 star campsite near to Bonifacio.

7
The Corsican interior and a return to the north

For this last day, our advised route takes you into the classical Corsican interior. Passing through the much celebrated Porto-Vecchio on the east coast, the drive takes you into the mountains, passed the "Aiguilles de Bavella" (needle-like mountains that dominate the surrounding landscapes) and through some superb villages, stunning forests and valleys. You will eventually reach the centre of the island and the island's historic capital, Corte. Now a university town, this relaxed gateway to the mountains has an interesting citadel and old town and makes for a nice lunch or coffee stop. From Corte, you will descend back to the east coast towards Bastia for your last evening.

Approximately 255km for the most interesting itinerary. Alternatively, 190km for the most direct route.
